Variations in Daily Maximum Areas and Longitudinal Widths of Solar Coronal Holes in 2017–2020

چکیده

We considered coronal holes as a manifestation of the large-scale magnetic field Sun. The main goal this work was to study variations in largest areas and longitudinal widths solar observed daily polar mid-latitude zones on time scale 984 days. Statistical methods fast Fourier transform (FFT), wavelet transform, empirical mode decomposition (EMD) were used detect periodicity parameters. Long-term measured with periods 8–9, 13–15, 26–29 days detected three Sun: (north south) equatorial. obtained are most clearly visible at equatorial zone. In period 8–9 has weak amplitude. interpreted rotation six-, four-, two-sector structure field.

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

Coronal Holes and the Solar Wind

Coronal holes are the darkest regions of the ultraviolet and X-ray Sun, both on the disk and above the limb. Coronal holes are associated with rapidly expanding open magnetic fields and the acceleration of the high-speed solar wind. This paper reviews measurements of the plasma properties of coronal holes and how these measurements have been used to put constraints on theoretical models of coro...

Solar cycle changes in coronal holes and space weather cycles

[1] Potential field source surface models of the coronal magnetic field, based on Mt. Wilson Observatory synoptic magnetograms, are used to infer the coronal hole sources of low-heliolatitude solar wind over approximately the last three solar cycles. Related key parameters like interplanetary magnetic field and bulk velocity are also calculated. The results illustrate how the evolving contribut...

Solar Wind Forecasting with Coronal Holes

An empirical model for forecasting solar wind speed related geomagnetic events is presented here. The model is based on the estimated location and size of solar coronal holes. This method differs from models that are based on photospheric magnetograms (e.g., Wang-Sheeley model) to estimate the open field line configuration. Rather than requiring the use of a full magnetic synoptic map, the meth...

Radial evolution of intermittent heat flux in solar coronal holes

Recently, we suggested that the source of ion heating in solar coronal holes is small-scale reconnection events (microflares) at the coronal base. The microflares launch intermittent heat flux up into the corona exciting ion cyclotron waves through a plasma microinstability. The ions are heated by these waves during the microflare bursts and then evolve with no energy input between the bursts. ...
